ld West contains 10-paylines, 5-reels and 3-rows. Because the number of paylines is so small, you can play this game for a minimum bet of only 10 cents per spin.
Therefore this slot is in line with the wishes of low rollers. If you only deposit 25 euros into a casino, then it’s not always the right thing to do to bet high. I chose for a bet size of 20 cents after I still approx. 15 euros left to play with.
The concept of Wild West is one I haven’t seen before btw. It offers wild symbols (cowboy) on reels 3, 4 and 5. Each time you manage to get a win, 5 free spins are awarded with a nice additional feature. The amount of the triggering win, will be the amount won when the symbol of a chipstack appears during free spins.
This symbols appears stacked on the reels. I managed to trigger this feature three times. Didn’t look very difficult to trigger. First time I triggered it, was when I ended up winning 3 euros with my triggering bet (15x bet). So the amount that could be won when getting a chipstack symbol was 3 euros for each.
Unfortunately the free spins are over quite quickly and I only saw the chipstack once. The other times I triggered the feature, was when the triggering win was much lower of only 20 cents. Then it did pop up regularly to win 20 cents each time.
The only way I can see this game paying out big is when you trigger the feature with a 5oak of the highest paying symbol, which awards 100x bet. Then the chipstack prize could add up real quick during free spins. There is also a superbet functionality to win a 5x multiplier with a wild win after increasing your bet. So it could be 500x bet if you get 5 ladies containing a wild.
I often prefer not to use this costly feature. During free spins the feature can be re-triggered again by getting a win with a wild. I probably will not play this game again, not too amused with the set up and potential.
When you play for so long in online casinos you begin to suspect from the start if the game is good or not. But today I was wrong.
This slot has a feature that I also met at other NextGen slots: for paying a “super bet” the slot promises to reward you better at certain times of the game. For example here: if you use a super bet of 5x, each Cowboy (which is also Wild) will bring in a 5x multiplier and from the 5 Free Spins that he will trigger you will get 5x more. Great game I said myself and I filled up the bottle of Whisky from the top left (at the 5x level). The minimum bet is 20 cents/10 lines, and playing with the super bet one pays 1 Euro/spin. And I started playing with courage.
A greater disappointment I never had before. Someone said here on AskGamblers in a discussion that playing for a large bet, the slots become generally stingy, and so far I was inclined to contradict him. But now after this experience... Well I lost in 100 games exactly 90 Euros! Absolutely all the wins that I had were below 1 Euro (this was the bet). And if I am not mistaken I won (with that Super Bet on) even only 10 cents! Then I gave up to this Super Bet that in what concerned my game only meant a loss 5x greater. And great wonder it happened, the slot began to be generous! I had so many Cowboys on reels like never before. And every Cowboy brought me 5 Free Spins from each of which (another wonder) I won now (when I paid 20 cents/spin) about equal to when I had the Super Bet enabled! Eventually I still lost an average of 3-5 Euro for each 100 spins played, but the slot was more generous.
I remained with a great confusion in respect to this slot. Maybe it was just that I was not lucky when playing with the Super Bet, but definitely the appreciation that I will give to this game will be just average.
I really like the background music and sound during wild wins. They remind me of some old western movie with John Wayne. As for the paytable it is generally low. The highest winning symbol has a max pay of 1000 coins for 5 of a kind and the rest are just ridiculous. When I took a look at the paylines I was really disappointed because this slot has only 10. I thought it would be something like Flip Flap, a game I don’t like one bit.
Still what was interesting for me was the superbet option. All wild wins can go up to 5 x so I really think the superbet option is a must in this game. Frankly without it this slot won’t pay anything descent in a million years considering the poor paytable. With the max superbet option the minimum bet here becomes 1 euros so you do need a higher balance to play it.
The game doesn’t have a standard bonus game. The bonus is triggered when a wild symbol is in some winning combination. You get 5 extra spins and all chips that land on the reels award a win equal to the win with the wild. If you get another win with a wild you get 5 more spins with chips win from the last wild win. I took me a few bonus rounds to get it but I can say that with superbet enabled at max you can have some great wins here.
The wilds come pretty often and the initial win vary from 1 to 15$ which is the most I have won so far. I managed to get 5 more chips after that and almost a 100 x bet win. Still the wins come often so you can boost your balance pretty fast if the game is in a good mood.
But this one has only 10 paylines, so I didn’t know what to expect here.
The game offer different way to trigger free spins than most of other video slots. And to be honest I like it because of it. Here you don’t need scatter symbols. Cowboy in a win combination trigger 5 free spins, more winning combinations mean more number of free spins. During free spins there are chipstack symbols and when they appears you get cash prize.
I played this game only for a short time. I triggered free spins twice. First time I got 5 free spins and the payout was so small. After that I was hoping to get more decent payout on next feature. And a few minutes later I triggered 10 free spins – because I had cowboy symbol in a two winning combination – 2 x 5 free spins. At first 5 free spins the chips symbols were at prize 0.50€; with last 5 free spins the prize was a little higher to 2 €. But still the payout was small. I never won here more than x20 total bet and I was angry.
I can not belive how this game pays during free spins. I expected bigger winnings not only around x10 to x20 bet. I am sure I will not play it again in near future. I played at minimum bet, but I choose superbet option to x5. The results were still small, I expected something decent from 0.50€ bets. I will rate it with 6 stars. I do not like it very much, other games with more paylines are more attractive for me. And I had more decent winnings from them.
By the Poker table, a horse is holding some cards in its hoof, smiling and looking very happy. Must be winning, that horse. By the bar, a voluptuous lady drinks her beer alone. Hmm, maybe you should go and join her? Yeah, why not!
Everything is very nicely presented in modern cowboy cartoon style, I must say, and I like what I'm seeing, well, especially that lady of course, cartoon or not! In real life, I would join her for a drink. In Wild West, I'll just have to stick to my spins. Hehehe. That Cowboy is the Wild symbol. He doesn't pay, doesn't double, doesn't expand, doesn't move, kinda dumb isn't he, but he awards 5 free spins with any win on any payline. Now this is certainly a new twist that I haven't come across before. All you need is just one Cowboy with a win to get 5 free spins. Hmm, quite interesting!
What about what I can win? Hmm. That Cowboy is dumb, but I already told you that, the Lady pays 1000x, that poker-playing Horse pays 200x, the Saloon pays 150x, same with the Money Bag, and the rest pays 100x, all per line bet. From what I can see, no possible big win you can get! That Bottle by the side? That's the SuperBet, telling you that you can win 2x or 10x with the SuperBet. Well, I've tried it, I've got bitten by it, so you better forget it! Hehehe.
In the Free Spins game, every new win with that Cowboy adds another 5 more free spins. How many times you can get, I don't know, but I got only 5 more spins. During these free spins, a Chipstack can randomly appear anywhere on the reels, and this is the Scatter symbol. What you had won with that Cowboy is what each Scatter will pay you. This can be small, but this can be big too, especially if you got 5-of-a-kind with the Cowboy to get the Free Spins game. Oh yes, one more thing. That Wild Cowboy isn't so wild, if you must know, because he only appears on reels 3, 4 and 5. His legs just cannot reach reels 1 and 2, don't ask me why! Hahaha.
That whole exaggerating “Big Win” show after winning just 15x bet. Sorry NextGen, but what kind of player would consider that a big win? No point in having all those chips flying around when a player hardly won anything. It rather annoys people instead of making them happy.
This Super Bet of 2x and 5x is for no good. If you increase the risk almost all the wins become insignificant. 5 same symbols on a line I had here just once in all my game.
Well, honestly speaking, the novelty of the game kept me interested for a while, until I realised how difficult it was to get any wins to go wild. Every win was merely 'hmm', 'hmm' and 'hmm'. Hardly any "oooh", or "aaah", or "hehehe". Bet you don't know where those came from, hah? Just like that game, this Wild West game is the same too. It's saying "Aloha!" Hahaha.
