Steve Wynn Helps Trump to Reelect

Former casino billionaire Steve Wynn has been financially contributing to the Republican Party, according to an NPR media organization survey, endorsing the GOP's reelection efforts in 2020.

Steve Wynn Re-starts GOP Donations

Сasino owner and Wynn Resorts founder Steve Wynn was confirmed as one of the Republican Party's (Grand Old Party - GOP) major contributors, just two years after being removed from his position as Republican National Committee's financial chairman, NPR.org reported.

Mr. Wynn has contributed millions to support the election of Republican candidates and to GOP-backing political action committees.

Contributions were immediately halted in the 2018 Wall Street Journal report the revealed Mr. Wynn's sexual misconduct with female employees, denying him his role in the business he helped create from scratch and standing of worldly relations, at least until now.

Following his ousting from Wynn Resorts, many US gaming officials took a long and hard look at whether Wynn properties could be permitted to stay in their states because of alleged collusion with Mr. Wynn's actions.

The Supreme Court of Nevada recently ruled in favour of Jorgen Nielsen, a former employee of Wynn, who had been sued for slander by Mr. Wynn. Meanwhile, earlier this year in july, Mr. Wynn scored a personal victory after a federal judge dismissed a complaint by nine unnamed women who said they had been sexually abused by Mr. Wynn, returning his credibility to a degree.

Mr. Wynn himself brought several cases against critics, several of which were rejected, over any libel aimed against his name. Nevertheless, Mr. Wynn now once again supports the Republican Party financially which he has helped for much of his life.

Any people may find the nature of the support a little disconcerting, but Republicans have largely acknowledged Mr. Wynn's financial backing. In fact, in the aftermath of his own rape conviction, Democrats recovered money from Harvey Weinstein.

Casino Mogul Supports Others

Unlike Mr. Weinstein, however, Mr. Wynn's claims have never been proved and he's paying a steeper price in this situation than others. Several high-ranking GOP leaders, including Sen. Mitch McConnell and super PACs affiliated with the governor, have received contributions according to NPR.

If the figures are right, Mr. Wynn has contributed an unprecedented $6 million to numerous political campaigns alone in 2020, making him one of the most prominent GOP contributors squarely back on the map.

NPRG did some research into the gifts – which are typically a public affair – and found some cases. Mr. Wynn has contributed $4 million to the Senate Leadership Foundation, said NPR, and is run by a retired McConnell staff member.

The American Crossroads, which is another pac that funds Mr. Mcconnell, has reached for another $1.5 million. Smaller contributions went to, among others, the McConnell Victory Committee ($25,000), Trump Victory ($468,500), and the National Republican Senatorial Committee ($200,000).

Mr. Wynn wasn't ashamed to stand up for what he believed. He started contributing to the GOP more regularly since founding and guiding Wynn Resorts to success, and has been doing so for years.

In 2016, U.S. President Donald Trump put his trust in Mr. Wynn, charging him with fundraising activities for the Republican Party, a role Mr. Wynn has thrived in. Mr. Trump, who's also a gambling mogul, has relied on casino industry peers to support him.

He allegedly reached out to Sheldon Adelson, owner of Las Vegas Sands Corp., and rebuked him for not doing anything to back up his reelection bid, to which Mr. Adelson reacted positively by allocating $75 million to support Mr. Trump, as CNN stated late last week.
