Colorado Sports Betting Tipico Signs for Century Casinos
Nasdaq-traded Century Casinos, Inc. today announced it has entered into a sports wagering relationship arrangement with German sports betting company Tipico in Colorado. Tipico becomes the casino operator's third sports betting affiliate who has already reached deals with Circa Sports and Bet365.
Tipico Enters Colorado
The contract signed by Century Casinos and Tipico is for 10 years and allows Tipico to begin sports betting operations in Colorado, subject to requisite regulatory approvals being received. Since securing a conditional permission from the state Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) to begin sports betting in New Jersey, Colorado will be the second us jurisdiction for the German sports book operator.
“Tipico is thrilled to partner with Century Casinos, a highly respected name in North American casino entertainment, to bring our fully mobile sports betting experience to Colorado and introduce sports fans throughout the state to our brand and proprietary technology.”
Adrian Vella, Managing Director, Tipico US
Pending Business Entry In Colorado
Tipico will be provided market rights in The Centennial State in exchange for a one-time market access fee payable to Century Casinos, a guaranteed annual benefit pledge and a percentage of annually payable net gaming revenue.
“We are very excited to be partnering with Tipico Sportsbook, one of the top sports betting companies in the world, and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship. The Colorado Division of Gaming has done an excellent job launching Sports Betting and we believe Colorado will be an ideal market for Tipico as they continue their expansion and growth in the United States.”
Erwin Haitzmann & Peter Hoetzinger, Co-Chief Executive Officers, Century Casinos
The sports book operator uses its own technologies to support its sports betting bid, but prefers to use the OpenGaming Scientific Games software package for its online gaming products.
On a side note, today Tipico has been given one of the first licenses to run online gaming in their native Germany. In addition to gambling operators such as GVC Holdings, Bet365 and Admiral Sportwetten, Tipico has been permitted to sell iGaming during the country's transitory phase before the New State Treaty on Gambling comes into effect.
