But then again, I may be wrong, because I'm not a new-games explorer as most other players are, and I tend to play on games that I'm already familiar with. However, I do try out new games on and off, and this was one of those instances.

As the name of the game suggests, it is based on ancient history, when the plague disease broke out and became a monstrous killer in Egypt and other countries as well. So, not surprisingly, the animated scenarios and symbols used in this game depict that dreadful era, thankfully not with grizzly portraits of the disease, but with acceptable icons instead. Otherwise, one may think that this is yet another zombies game, hehehe. I may say that the graphics are pleasantly presented, although not outstanding, and I do like the overall look of the game, comparable to other more established provider's games.

Sadly though, the paytable has much to be desired, but in line with the current trend. The Pyramid is the Wild symbol but doesn't pay anything for itself, nor does it double wins with it. It does however substitutes for all symbols, because there aren't any Scatter symbol in the game. Yep. No scatters mean no Free Spins game! Argh! I don't like games that don't have any Free Spins game, but this game offers something else as a replacement, but we'll come to that a little further on. The Pharaoh is the highest paying symbol at 1000x the line bet for getting 5 of them, a low value, and all the other symbols have even lower values from 400x down to 40x, making the paytable a low one indeed.

Playing the game is something else! Every time a win is achieved, one free Respin of all the reels is awarded. This respin probably uses a different set of reels, because most of the time, the respin would award winning combinations of the same symbols that triggered it. Now, this is something different from the normal respins that we are used to. If the Pharaoh symbols triggered the Respin, then there is always the chance that the respin could award all 15 symbols of the Pharaoh in one go, for the maximum possible win of 1000x the total bet amount! By today's standard, this is a good win, when most other new games would only give no more than 500x the total bet amount, so don't be deterred by the low paytable!

All in all, I must admit that I enjoyed playing Plagues Of Egypt on my very first play on it. Yes, I did not get any good wins from the game so far, only 63x my bet amount, but the potentials are there, and certainly need many more plays to achieve better and bigger wins. The only setback is that the minimum starting bet is 0.40 for the 40 paylines, so some players may need to close one eye and play this game! Hahaha.
