You can't feel the cold of the Arctic, but at least you can sense its coolness in the game. This isn't really a favourite of mine, for reasons you'll soon find out, but I do play it on and off, whenever I feel like it.

The Queen is the Wild symbol in the game, paying a marvellous 10,000x the line bet for 5 of her. It substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter and the Bonus symbols, but is otherwise a dumb Wild symbol. No doubling of wins with it, no stacking and not expanding on the reels either. The Kayak is the Scatter symbol, paying 100x the total bet for getting 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of the Kayaks trigger 10 free spins with all wins tripled. More free spins can be retriggered. The Crystal is the Bonus symbol, another dumb symbol that doesn't pay anything for itself, appearing only on reels 1 and 5 to trigger a Bonus game. Pick 3 of the 6 crystals to win cash prizes of up to 150x the total bet amount. Nice! As for the other symbols, the Polar Bear pays 500x, the Husky pays 200x, the Owl pays 200x too, and the rest pay from 100x to 50x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. An average paytable.

Playing the Bonus game can either be good or only be mediocre, because you only get 3 picks to get the best prizes. Most of the bonus games that I had played couldn't pay any higher than 50x my bet amount, but I did get a few good payouts of almost 100x. This doesn't happen often of course, and only when the game is in a good mood.

Oddly too, I also found that the retriggers were harder to get in Arctic Treasure, and when they do finally come, the retriggers were usually not more than 3 or 4 times. Hardly sufficient to produce really huge wins like in Safari Heat, for example. Nonetheless, Arctic Treasure is quite fun to play, but is not as exhilarating any some other better games.
